Mini-workshop about native plants and pollinators with a tour of gardens at the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Center, a slide show featuring botanical art, and drawing exercises from life with native plants.
Students in 2D Design began with creating graphic symbols frothier hand and a either a natural item or a manmade item. Next, they worked through a set of exercises to learn design principles. The final project was to create dynamic compositions with their symbols, textural images & typography.
Students in Typography applied principles of design to type compositions, designed a poster series and finally created posters based on typographic history.
